Everyone has a dream, it can be to travel the world, have a big house, a car, make people happy or help others… But what everyone has in common, the underlying, absolute truth behind any dream is that they want to be happy. No matter how and what they do to be happy, that’s the big goal.
What is being happy?
If we are in a job out of a sense of obligation just because we need that money to pay bills at the end of the month, we feel bad inside; if we look in the mirror and don’t like what we see; if we are in a relationship with a person whom we don’t love anymore – we feel depressed, sad, our self esteem is low and most of the times we don’t like ourselves. All of that because we are not doing what we should, we should do whatever makes us happy.
Being happy is feeling like we succeeded in life, is to feel like we did exactly what we wanted to do – it is to complete our mission.
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” – John Lennon
What’s Your Mission In The World?
We all have a mission in the World, so how do you know if you are doing it? If you are, you will feel proud of yourself, you will be a confident person and you will transmit that wherever you go. But if you’re not, how do you know what your mission is? Your mission is that first thought you have in the morning when you wake up. The first thing you think of is what you really like, and that’s your mission, that’s your goal.
Mine, for example, is to help people having an active and healthy lifestyle. I also have a deep connection to nature, life and people. I love to learn and one of my daily goals is to learn as much as I can with all people. That makes me happy and that’s what makes me feel fulfilled.
No matter if your dream is to be an Olympic Athlete, a yoga teacher or if you want to create a new revolutionary city based on free energy. What matters is that you know when you are doing something that makes you happy. That’s it!
What Prevents Us From Accomplish Our Dreams?
This depends a lot where you are in the world, who your family is, what your financial capacities are – this is what apparently prevents you from accomplishing your dreams. But it’s not the country, family, money or even weather – it’s the excuses, really. That is the only thing that is keeping you like that, away from your happiness.
We make excuses for everything… For example:
Ted: “Hey George! Let’s workout tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.!”
George: “Hey mate. At 7 a.m.? I’m gonna freeze outside!”
Ted: “Come on, you told me you wanted to improve your performance.”
George: “Yeah… Maybe next week.”
Ted woke up and thought “He was right, it’s cold outside!” and goes back to sleep… So, neither Ted or George do their workout.
Don’t let your life be controlled by excuses, by “but…”. This is one of the most incredible things we have but at the same the time it can be the strongest prisons that human beings have – our minds. Why our mind? Find out bellow.
How Can We Achieve Our Dreams?
That’s the secret!
Like I said, our mind is one of the strongest prisons we have. To understand that, first you have to see this video.
These people are challenging their skills and showing themselves that they can do whatever they want – you can do the same! You just have to stop doing a few things:
1. No excuses.
2. Stop thinking you can’t. Wherever we look, we are bombarded with the media that tells us that we aren’t worth anything, that we will never be good enough because we don’t have that body, that hair, that car… Just ignore that!
3. Stop saying “This is not for me!”.
4. Stop thinking too much.
Instead, do this:
Believe in yourself, you can do everything you want. Ignore all you see on social media and start to believe in your truth potential.
If you really want something, you can do it. You have to learn what is the best way to do it and, most importantly, make it your way. After that, keep the ball rolling.
Go outside, meet people, create relationships, connect yourself to nature, connect yourself with your body. Just be free!
And this is the most powerful thing you can go: Don’t think! Make a choice and once you make it, don’t think more about that. Now it’s time to take action.
The more we think, the more time we have to find excuses and not do anything. This is why our mind is our biggest enemy. Most of us believe that we aren’t good enough, or that we don’t deserve to be happy and because we believe this is real, we continue to be apart from who we really are, from our inner self. If you want to do something in your life, just do it. This shows a lot attitude and you will see that you will feel accomplished.
Nothing beats asking children what they want to be when they grow up. Kids are incredibly creative, spontaneous and they already believe they can be anything. We should all be more like them. Check it out.
